A Petroleum Engineer working overseas and locally, Wilson is currently developing his Master’s Degree Project in the Faculty of Environmental Design (Science) at the University of Calgary.  In the near future Wilson will challenge projects to investigate the root issues that contribute to pollution from natural resources extraction, and to investigate possible alternative strategies that might reverse current trends and contribute to necessary sustainability.

Wilson says:

"I lived the first 6 years of my life in my grandfather's hacienda together with the Shipibos tribe he was in charge of protecting.  According to local customs, my first baptism was performed by the Shipibos. I lived 12 years in Iquitos, one of our destinations on this tour, on the shore of the Amazon River, before attending University in Lima.  For all those years I traveled on the Amazon River to visit my family in the Jungle until I immigrated to Canada.  I have a great background of experience living in the jungle, and many interesting stories that I will share with the group during the evenings in Heliconia."
